3 day France Les Contamine Mountain Trip
A challengingly steep walk on narrow paths to see geographic points of interests and nature reserve.
Service Description
A slow paced walk on steep paths to very interesting locations geographically speaking with a high risk of rock fall and landslide, fine views up to the slopes of the Mont Blanc Massif, masses of rock, ice and snow still exist and for now remain up there in a landscape that is changing every year, especially in the Spring as the land adapts to the increase in temperatures as the summer arrives and bits of rock brake off from the ongoing weathering and ice expansion in the cracks within the Massif Mont Blanc mountain range and fall down into the valleys below at an alarming rate. Foot paths are evolving, disappearing and being reconstructed as a result of the natural movement of the terrain so this trip offers a flexible walker a lot of opportunity to dodge rock falls, evaluate the land around, admire the geographic features visible to the human eye, and concentrate on what is under foot. The summer and autumn can, in theory, be a more static and stable season from a terrain movement perspective but only until the autumn rains arrive, and with the intense heat waves in European summer now the terrain and atmosphere is drying out so much it presents new terrain cohesion issues given the lack of glue in the earth. Nonetheless, this walk is a divine and beautiful experience in a beautiful area of mountains with beautiful scenery around and nature offering all the abundance of life, sights and sounds you can wish for, for these reasons I highly recommend it but only if the risks are something you are prepared to take for such a scenic trip, this is naturally a personal choice for a mountain walker to consider for any mountain trip.
