La Fouly & 3 Lacs Fenetres: there & back

Prepare for a fabulous day out with an International Mountain Leader showing you the way up to the 3 Lac Fenetres and back again on the same paths, this is a MEDIUM categorised walk. Distance: 18.5km Height Gain: 960m Max steepness: 13% Altitude start: 1598m Altitude End: 2520m If you prefer a longer & harder day then you can opt for the Lacs Fenetres & St Bernard option which is under DIFFICULT walks but for many people this option offers more than enough beauty, spectacular views and mountain discovery via a great road, track and paths. Meet outside La Fouly supermarket at 08:00. Bring your walking poles for this one to steady you up and over the hills & mountains. First we ascend to Ferret, go up to Ars, then go along a track & paths to the Lacs Fenetres and stop there before returning again. The views of the mountains here are breathtakingly superb. We rest at the lakes to enjoy the stunning views and scenery from the Lacs Fenetre having stopped on the way many times to enjoy the surroundings and to allow people to walk at their personal walking speeds somewhere between 3 and 4 km an hour. After recovering and relaxing at the Lacs Fenetres we return the same way to La Fouly on the paths, track and road. This is the MEDIUM option allowing more time for looking around, pauses enroute, photo taking of flowers, geology and mountains. Please bring 2 litres of water minimum and your packed lunch as refreshments are not included and after La Fouly supermarket there are no alternative shops for buying provisions so arrive with a day pack prepared to eat enroute / at the lakes or do some shopping at the La Fouly supermarket before to setting off for the day, the shop has a great selection of products.
